The VOI Pilot Project was a small-scale project implemented cooperatively during the 2000 South Carolina (statewide), Okaloosa and Orange counties in Florida, Dallas County in Texas, and Weber County in Utah. The purpose of the program was to examine the feasibility of using the Internet for remote registration and voting in an effort to overcome the time and distance obstacles faced by UOCAVA voters. Eighty-four voters participated.
