Primary definition

1. Determining the integrity of an election by confirming one or more of the following: (1) a voter's choices have been correct understood by the voting system; (2) the choices were recorded properly by the system; (3) the choices were tabulated properly as part of the final count; (4) the cast vote records are correct and have survived to be used in the event a is sought; and (5) no unauthorized voters voted in the election. RECOUNT 2. The process of evaluating a system or component to determine whether the products of a given development phase satisfy the conditions (such as specifications) imposed at the start of that phase.
