(obsolete) A CHAD that has been deformed, usually by a voter’s stylus, but no corner of which has been detached from a punched card. No juri sdiction counts pregnant chads as votes, but if no other bite is cast is a particular office, pregnancy is some indication of VOTER INTENT. See also DIMPLE.
