Mission Assurance Category (mac) (c.f.d.)

Primary definition

A Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) term primarily used to determine the requirements for availability and integrity. Rationale: The Risk Management Framework updates the method for determining the potential impact due to the loss of integrity and availability, which is what the MAC covered. These security objectives are treated independently under system categorization IAW CNSSI No. 1253.
