The Federal Voting Assistance Program refers to a program of the U. S. Department of Defense through which the Uniformed Overseas and Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) is administered. The Director of FVAP administers the program on behalf of the Secretary of Defense, and provides absent U. S. military personnel and citizens worldwide with state-by-state guidelines describing voting procedures and a broad range of other non-partisan information and assistance to facilitate their participation in the democratic process.
