A "device 1. Which mechanically or electronically compiles a total of the number of votes cast for each candidate and for or against each measure voted on; or 2. To which a list of offices and candidates and the statements of measures to be voted on may be affixed and into which a card may be inserted so that the votes cast for each candidate and for or against each measure may be indicated by punching the card with reference to the list."
