Illegal Voting

Primary definition

Casting a vote in contravention of law. Voting more than once at any election in a state, or depositing more than one ballot for the same office, or knowingly attempting to vote when not entitled to do so. Ala. Code §17-23-1. See also A voter who casts an illegal FALSE VOTING. vote may be required to reveal it so that the totals can be rectified. There is no privacy protection for illegal votes. See, e.g., Texas Elec. Code §221.009. It does not appear to be illegal to satisfy the eligibility requirements of more than one state simultaneously, nor to thus cast more than one vote for President.
