Board Of State Canvassers

Primary definition

A body constituted to certify the results of elections. "Within 20 days after the election, or sooner if the returns are all received, the state auditor, superintendent of public instruction, and attorney general shall meet as a board of state canvassers in the office of the secretary of state and determine the vote." Mont. Code Ann. §13-15-502. See also Idaho, Iowa, Kan., Md. Elec. Code §11-502, Mo. Rev. Stat. §115.511. 1., Neb., N.J. Stat. Ann. §19:6-27, N.D, S.C., S.D.
