Affidavit Ballot

Primary definition

A form of in Mississippi, cast by placing the ballot in an envelope PROVISIONAL BALLOT along with the voter's affidavit that he "believes he is a registered voter in the jurisdiction in which he desires to vote and is eligible to vote in the election." Miss. Code §23-15-573. Affidavit ballots are used in Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, Texas and Vermont. See also SELF-AFFIRMATION.
